Frequently Asked Questions on International Roaming Charges 
International

When making calls abroad using your Globe SIM, charges depend on the type of call you make:

 

  • Local calls (within the country you’re visiting) follow the outgoing call rates of Globe’s roaming partner**.

  • International calls (to other countries) are charged based on the outgoing IDD (International Direct Dial) rates of the roaming partner**.


**Subject to 15% roaming surcharge and 12% VAT on the surcharge.


Note: Calls to toll-free numbers and collect calls are only free if made from a local number or landline. Calls using your Globe SIM will follow standard roaming rates. The only exception is calls to the Globe Roaming Hotline (+63277301212), which are always free.

Any incoming call you receive—whether from the Philippines or another country—will be charged based on the incoming call rates of the roaming partner. This applies whether the call is from a landline or a mobile number.


Note: A 15% roaming surcharge and 12% VAT apply to all call charges.

  • Sending texts:

    • SMS sent to international numbers (outside the Philippines) are charged at ₱10 per text, plus any applicable roaming partner fees.

  • Receiving texts:

    • Normally, incoming texts are free, but some roaming partners may charge an incoming SMS rate.


Note: A 15% roaming surcharge and 12% VAT apply to any text message charges.

Globe offers Roam Surf 399 so you can stay connected without worrying about high data charges:

 

  • Postpaid customers: Unlimited all-day data roaming for ₱399/day in over 120 countries.

  • Prepaid customers: 1GB of data for only ₱399 for all-access browsing.


If Roam Surf is not available in a specific country, standard zonal rates may apply. You can check the list of locations where pay-per-use data roaming is no longer available here.

  • Sending MMS: Charges depend on the roaming partner’s outgoing MMS rates, and fees vary based on message size (KB).

  • Receiving MMS: Some roaming partners may charge for incoming MMS, following their incoming MMS rates.


Note: A 15% roaming surcharge and 12% VAT apply to MMS charges. Service availability also depends on the roaming partner and whether your device supports MMS.
