Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice Over WiFi (VoWiFi) - What are VoLTE and VoWiFi?
VoLTE stands for voice over LTE. It's a feature that lets you make voice calls over the LTE network, rather than over the 2G and 3G networks we normally use. VoWiFi Call, or voice over Wi-Fi, is a complementary technology to VoLTE and lets you make voice calls over a Wi-Fi network. This capability is also called Wi-Fi Calling on certain devices. Yes you may, but please make sure to select a secure Wi-Fi connection. We highly recommend that you connect to a private Wi-Fi connection that has a strong signal against latching onto a public Wi-Fi access such as what you find in malls and airports. Connecting to public Wi-Fi access with unreliable signal may result in call failure when using your VoWiFi services. To enjoy VoWiFi, you need to have the following: - An LTE SIM
- A VoWiFi-capable phone
- VoWiFi is activated on your mobile device. If your VoWiFi isn't activated yet, you may make the request via the GlobeOne app by going to the Menu > Help & Support > Send Us Your Concern > Network Concern > I want to activate my VoLTE/VoWiFi service.
