Globe Starlink Mobile FAQs

Globe Starlink is a service that connects compatible LTE/4G/5G phones* to satellites when there are no nearby cell towers for texts and data. A Globe Starlink promo is needed for this connection.

*Availability may vary by device model and software version. iOS support is not yet available.

When Globe’s regular mobile signal from ground-based cell towers is unavailable outdoors, your compatible device can connect to satellites for essential connectivity and texts. Support for iOS is coming soon.

When a regular mobile signal becomes available again, your device automatically switches back.

You need to be registered for a Globe Starlink promo to use the service. For best results, use the service outdoors in an open area with a clear view of the sky.

Globe Starlink mobile is available in areas across the Philippines. It is best experienced outdoors in an open area with a clear and unobstructed view of the sky.

Globe Starlink mobile is built for essential connectivity when you're in remote areas or in an emergency. It allows you to use messaging apps (like WhatsApp and Viber), access maps for navigation, and send texts in areas where there is a weak or no cell tower signal.

This service focuses on essential connectivity, so torrents, video streaming, heavy downloads, and online games are not supported for now.

For best results, use the service outdoors with a clear view of the sky. You may notice some short delays when sending messages or loading content, which is normal with satellite connectivity.

When subscribed to a Globe Starlink promo and successfully connected, your device will display G Starlink next to your mobile’s data signal bars, and you will receive a text confirming satellite connectivity.

Calls are not yet supported on Globe Starlink mobile. You can continue to use Globe’s regular, non-satellite network for voice calls when coverage is available.

Traditional mobile services like 5G use Globe’s regular mobile network from ground-based cell towers. Globe Starlink mobile helps keep you connected with a satellite signal.

Due to the difference in signal, Globe Starlink can only be used with essential connectivity and texting for now.  Some delays are normal because of the satellite connection, and brief interruptions may happen because of the weather or location.
