Zonal Rate FAQs

What is zonal rating?

By implementing zonal rates, Globe simplifies the experience for postpaid customers traveling abroad. Previously, roaming services varied across operators per country. Now, there will only be one rate per service for each of the two designated zones!

On top of this, roaming rates are now in Philippine Peso and come with no hidden charges, like taxes and surcharges.

The zonal rates are as follows:

Service
Zone 1: Asia-Pacific & America
Zone 2: Europe & Africa
To make a call
P120 per minute
P150 per minute
To receive a call
P60 per minute
P75 per minute
To send a text
P20 per 160 characters
P25 per 160 characters
To receive a text
FREE
FREE
To surf on mobile
P3 per 10Kb*
P5 per 10Kb*

What are the advantages of having zonal rates?

  • Easy to understand and remember
  • No more worrying about which operator to choose when you're abroad
  • No more converting from USD to PHP
  • No hidden charges

This is great! So what are the plans this feature is available to?

Any Postpaid Plan (from Legacy Plans to the new My Super Plan and My Fully Loaded Plans). Load Tipid Plans and Load Allowance Plans, however, are not entitled to avail of this promo.

Do I need to register for this feature?

No need. These zonal rates will automatically take the place of the existing roaming rates.

Will this affect registration to roaming promos?

No. But together with this, we will be launching new promos to further enhance the worry-free roaming experience.

How long can I avail of this offer?

These rates will be available until further notice.

Why did you change the price?

The zonal rates were done to simplify the roaming charges for your convenience. To enjoy an even more worry-free roaming experience, you can also try our new promos at cheap rates!

I want to subscribe to roaming promos but there are none available in the country where I am at. What is my option?

Zonal rates will prevail if there are no available promos in your destination country.

Will the zonal rates apply to all Globe customers, even to MSME and Enterprise accounts?

Yes! It will also apply to corporate accounts.

Are outgoing calls to landline included in the zonal rates as well?

Yes, they are included.

If I manually select the network operator in the visited country, will the roaming partners appear at the topmost of the list?

Not necessarily, but we are currently working on solutions to be able to somehow "lock" to the preferred roaming operators. This is not yet ready though but it should help you once it's available.

What if I experience problems with this service; what number should I call?

If you do not have signal nor cannot call/text/browse while abroad, we recommend that you do a hard reset of your phone. To do that, just turn off your phone, remove the battery, place it back, and then turn it on again.

Should you still experience problem availing the data services while roaming, please contact our Roaming Hotline at +6327301212 toll-free.

Can I opt out of this feature?

No. This will take the place of the existing roaming rates across countries per zone.
