Frequently Asked Questions on VoLTE Roaming
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) allows you to make high-quality voice calls over the LTE network instead of relying on older 2G or 3G networks. With some countries shutting down their 2G and 3G networks, VoLTE roaming ensures you can continue making calls and sending texts while abroad, as long as you’re connected to a VoLTE-ready roaming partner.
To start using VoLTE abroad, make sure:
- You’re using a VoLTE-capable handset and VoLTE is enabled on your device
- Your account is VoLTE-provisioned
- You’re connected to a VoLTE-ready roaming partner
Postpaid customers are automatically provisioned with VoLTE. If you're a Prepaid/TM customer without an active VoLTE account, you may request activation via Globe’s official Facebook (FB) Messenger account.
Non-bill or the following prepaid transactions are exempted from the convenience fee:
- Globe Fiber Prepaid one-time fee P1,499
- Globe Fiber Prepaid repair fee P500
- In-store or online merchandise purchase
- Prepaid kit or Home Prepaid WiFi purchase
No additional charges apply for using VoLTE. Standard roaming rates for calls and texts will still apply, but there are no extra data fees for using VoLTE services.
