And the non-negotiable steps you need
If you’re delving into the black hole of skincare for the first time, a 10-step routine may be overwhelming. Starting a day and night regimen need not feel like a chore! Where to begin? A quick cheat sheet: Identify your skin type, first and foremost. Layer products from the lightest to thickest consistency. When done in this manner, it prepares skin for better absorption, yielding maximum results.
For non-negotiable steps, a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and sunscreen for the day is highly recommended. For the nighttime, use an oil-based cleanser or micellar water for makeup removal, a gentle cleanser, a toner and a thick moisturizer.
A cleansing oil breaks down impurities and effectively removes makeup. This is usually followed up by a gentle cleanser. You may also opt for trustworthy Micellar Water to wipe away dirt, grease and makeup!
A toner resets the skin’s pH levels while leaving skin hydrated. A moisturizer then locks in all the previous steps while providing long-lasting moisture. If you have skin issues you want to treat—dehydration, pigmentation or sensitivity—you may add specific serums and creams in between.
During the daytime, complete your routine with a non-greasy, lightweight sunscreen, which doesn’t have a pesky white cast. Use it as your last step; don't neglect it since exposure to sun rays is the fastest way to age your skin!
Start with the basics and build your way up, happy shopping!
