STEP 1: Turn your modem off and unplug the power adapter.
STEP 2: Wait for 30 seconds.
STEP 3: Ensure that the cables are properly connected.
STEP 4: Plug in the power and turn on the modem.
STEP 5: Wait for the lights to turn on and reconnect the WiFi.
What can cause your connection to slow down?
Latency: Your connection slows down the farther your app or game server is from your device.
Bandwidth: If you connect more devices, you need more bandwidth. Too many connected devices slow down your connection.
Device Memory: Running many apps may slow down your device. Close those not in use.
Device Storage Space: Your device might be slowing down due to limited memory. Clear some space so it works faster.
Here’s how to properly reset your modem:
STEP 1: Unplug the power adapter.
STEP 2: Wait for 30 seconds.
STEP 3: Replug the power adapter.
STEP 4: Check if you’re now connected to the Internet.
Signal: You’ll see signal bars if you have an LTE Modem.
Power: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
Network: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
WiFi: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
LAN: If there’s no light, check if the LAN cable is correctly plugged into the port.
Signal: Place the modem near a window for better reception. If with antenna, make sure that the cable is properly connected to the external antenna.
DSL: A “DSL” indicator will be beside the power light if you have a DSL Modem.
Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
Power: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
Internet: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
LAN: Check if the LAN cable is correctly plugged into the port. You can also try other LAN ports to see if they are working.
WLAN: If there’s s no light, unplug the power and put it back after 30 seconds.
PON: A “PON” indicator will be beside the power light if you have a Fiber Modem.
Check if the cord is correctly plugged into the modem or to the box mounted on the wall.
Unplug the power cable and put it back again after 30 seconds.
Power: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
LOS: Check if the power cable is correctly plugged into both the modem and power source.
LAN: Check if the LAN cable is correctly plugged into the port. You can also try other LAN ports to see if they are working.

How to set-up your TP-Link WiFi Mesh:
STEP 1: Download the TP-Link Deco app on Google Play or App Store.
STEP 2: Open the app and create a new account.
STEP 3: Select “M5”.
STEP 4: Plug the device and wait for the light to turn blue.
STEP 5: Enable bluetooth on your phone to start pairing.
STEP 6: Select the location for your first mesh device.
STEP 7: Create a name and password for your WiFi network. Select “Add Another Deco” and repeat the steps to finish setting up.
Troubleshooting Guide for TP-Link WiFi Mesh
Check the color of the light indicator:
Yellow: Deco is starting up.
Blue: Deco is ready for setup.
Green: Deco is working.
Red: Deco has an issue.
If the indicator is red, follow these steps:
STEP 1: Ensure that Deco app is updated to the latest version.
STEP 2: Unplug and replug the main mesh device.
STEP 3: If unplugging didn’t work, place the second mesh device closer to the main device.
STEP 4: If still unable to detect, reset it to factory settings.
Avoid overheating by handling your device correctly.
- Place your devices in open areas and ensure nothing is covering them.
- Keep them away from hot appliances and direct sunlight.
- Keep them away from running electric appliances.
- Place them on a stable flat surface.
- Use the original adapter that came with the device.
Taking Care of Your Fiber Patch Cord
- A “PON” indicator will be beside the power light if you have a fiber modem.
- Don’t bend the cable.
- Avoid removing the cord from the modem.
Note: Don’t look directly into the end of the patch cord as fiber optic emits ight that can be harmful to the eye.
